To retreat, or not to retreat? I think we know the answer.

There is always a first for everything, and even though a retreat has so many benefits it’s understandable if it’s your first time on one, or perhaps, if it’s your first getaway solo there can be hesitation and uncertainty.

So, we thought we’d put together a few points to get those butterflies in your belly fluttering with excitement to book your next retreat adventure!

 1. The unknown can be magical.
Rather than this being a space of worry we really feel that this is where the magic happens. When life is so strictly planned out there leaves little room for all those moments of spontaneity and belly laughs. Allow space for magic to unfold and let yourself celebrate life’s offerings.
We love in one of Matthew Kahn’s talks he says: “If you were really to be uncertain there would be nothing to know”.

2. The solo retreater.
We can speak from experience when we say that solo adventures can be the most courageous and liberating adventure for the soul.
When you travel solo you are more open to sparking conversations and connecting with others and at the same time you have the space to listen to your own internal nudges. You get to do 100% you.

3. Its a beautiful time to practice self love.
We sometimes unconsciously think that practicing self-love is selfish but you really do need to fill your cup first and love every part of yourself.
There is deep inner exploring you’ll get to do on your retreat, within a safe and intimate setting.
When considering a retreat or any decision in life you might like to ask yourself this question “What would someone who loves themselves do?”

 4. Digital detox.
Have you heard the saying “tune out to tune in”?
From social media, phone calls, the news, and the stories we hear and carry with us.
Everyday we’re hit with impressions consistently many that we don’t consciously seek out. When you’re on a retreat you can consciously switch off and tune out of the excess noise. Allowing your nervous system to reset and come back to its natural state of calm.

5. Routine.
Shake up your existing routine on a retreat and wake up to morning nature walks, yoga practices, nourishing meals and gratitude for life.

6. Friendships and memories.
You’ll be greeted with the most open and friendly faces on your retreat. You won’t see no masks here. Come as you are, experience and enjoy connecting with new friends and create lasting memories. You’ll leave your retreat feeling refreshed, inspired, and with lasting memories. Who knows, you may even wish to book a reunion with your new friends.

We hope this helps you in your quest to find a retreat that resonates with you.
Our upcoming retreat “Ignite Your Spark” is coming up this September. If you’d like to know more please see our retreat page or reach out for a chat.
